One night, after missing some time of class, child suddenly complained of chest pain, could not straighten his back, and even lost strength to speak.
My baby's father and I were also horrified and rushed to hospital for emergency care.
When I arrived at hospital, doctor did not find any suspicious causes. However, seeing expression of child's face and body distorted due to pain, a series of examinations was ordered: an electrocardiogram, a blood test, filming, etc. After a wave of checks, report was received late at night.
"According to report, everything is in order with health of child." The doctor carefully read conclusion, looked at child, then at me and father of child, and said seriously.
"But child is clearly in pain and unbearable, you see it too, right, doctor," I asked doctor, puzzled. At same time, I saw questioning of child in eyes of father - did he think that child was pretending to be sick? I got a little angry because I thought that he never believed in child and even made child afraid of him and not dare to say anything to him.
"How is your child's life and studies lately? Is there anything abnormal? Like stress?" doctor asked us again.
"Stress? What's her blood pressure?" - without hesitation, father of child answered doctor.
"Even with a little pressure, it won't hurt that much, right?" Dad added.
But my heart skipped a beat. I know child's situation very well during this period. She doesn't want to go to school, but she has to go to school because she can't always skip classes! I know how much pressure she is under and how uncomfortable she is. But can this stress lead to physical pain, cause of which cannot be found?
"Doctor, that's true. The child is really under a lot of pressure from studying lately, but will that cause physical pain as well?" I nervously asked doctor.
"Sometimes too much mental stress can cause physical pain, which is called a physical reaction!" doctor replied. “Your child should belong to this situation. If pressure is released and removed, pain will naturally disappear.”
"So you don't need to take medication for other treatments, and you don't need to take medication?" I still don't feel relieved.
"The body itself is fine. If it's just caused by stress, you don't need to take medication, just find a way to relieve stress," doctor replied. At my request, we nevertheless prescribed painkillers for child and took child from hospital.
On way home, while driving, dad began to swear: Are you stressed? What's so stressful? Are you short of food and clothing? Or are they too squeamish and hypocritical? ...Nothing happened, you sent whole family to hospital at night, and you spent a lot of money, do you feel comfortable? No more chest pains? ...
I couldn't take it anymore and cried out to baby's father: Isn't your heart made of flesh? Can't you see that child isextremely uncomfortable? There are no problems with inspection, don't worry, everyone? Do you want her to be okay? ...
The smell of gunpowder in car is too strong. The two adults completely ignored child's feelings, each expressing their own anger.
"Please stop arguing, okay?" The child finally spoke in a weak voice. Covering his chest with one hand, he curled up into a ball.
A few days after child was diagnosed with depression, "physical symptoms" accompanying child intensified - dizziness, headache, back pain, tinnitus, auditory hallucinations ... We finally understand that is a physical reaction.
It's been a few years, and when I think about that night and unscrupulous quarrel with my father in the car, I still find it hard to calm down.
